I'm awefully new to this union I don't make meetings at all. What the heck is this pro tem thing all about anyways? can you please elaborate what you mean. thanks! Man dude this site is crazy.
Buffalo apprentice Welcome to the union. But you have started out badly. By not making time to be involved your rights are in danger, you should be there to vote for what you think is good. Now the pro-tem system is when an officer gives up his position before the end of his term to some one he picks. That person finishes out that term in office without being elected to said office. Say this person is in a position to send people out to work, now he can earn votes unfairly. Hence the term jobs for votes. It is not good for the rank and file. Keep asking questions about your local to be informed so you can vote with understanding. On this site I try to be serious but also have some fun. Glad to have had you logged on. I try to update often you can find my email in some comments. HAVE A GREAT SUMMER ONE OF YOUR UBC BROTHERS JIM
